Ovarian follicles are the basic unit of female reproductive biology, they are roughly spherical aggregations of cells found in the ovary. The ovum (egg) forms inside of them, then it ruptures and begins it way down the falopian tubes. An enlarged follicle is a sign you are about to ovulate. Everything's fine.
