Would you burn rubber in a mustang gt?

My sister just bought a 2005 mustang gt a few weeks ago. She went out of town for a couple of days and left me the keys. The tires had a little less that half tread left. She said she was getting new ones when she got back, to have some fun and burn the tires up over the weekend. It is a stick shift and a blast to drive. I had the tires spinning almost every time I took off from a stop and did a few good burnout with a lot of smoke and a few small piles of rubber. The tires still had a little tread at the end of the weekend, but I used them most of the way up. Would you have done the same?
